100 Days Agenda Of Modi Government

Modi government, like its predecessor, has also set a hundred days agenda to get the things rollingas well as to still confidence of people in the system of the governance. No doubt the present time is not very conducive for business and industrial sectors as market mood is subdued and depressive. As a result the first thing that the Modi government needs to do is to encourage the business class to think positive and work for the better future.Challenges before the government are huge and therefore it needs to be very careful while deciding its priorities and policies.

The first important step the government had taken is to issue certain guidelines for its ministersto not to appoint any of their relative as their staff and not to give any tender to their known.Modi wants that in the eyes of the people his government must not look like UPA government suffering from inaction and lost in policy paralysis. Therefore he set the ball moving from the very beginning. The new age of governance has certain parameters in which party and the government will work together for quick delivery of fruits of development and implementation of the government policies will not be delayed on account of indecision.

The ten poins agenda of the government includes
1. removal of hurdles for the economic development by quick and transparent clearance of the investment proposals.
2. Control of the inflation using supply chain.
3.Initiation of reforms in the infrastructure sector.
4.Time bound implementation of policy measures.
5.prioritize education,health,water and energy sectors.
6.Provisions of people oriented government and good governance.
7.Stability and consistency in policy matters.
8.Promotion of e-auctioning.
9.Building confidence of bureaucracy and empowering it.
10.Improvement in the inter ministerial coordination.

Every Minister as well as the minister has been given direction to prepare a list of innovative ideas to be implemented inthe first hundred days. The PM will evaluate performance of the each ministry after this period and give suitable directives to improve their performance. All these efforts are designed and directed towards improvement in performance of the government. He clearly indicated that what matters most is the outcome of the governance and people must feel that government must look functioning.

These hundred days functioning of the Modi government are very crucial because during the election time there was a mass hysteria of good days are ahead. Therefore both Modi and BJP are aware that mass support can last only for a brief period and unless and untill the good things are delivered people will be very critical of the new government.Among a few decisions that are going to enhance morale of the bureaucracy Iis direct contact with PM.Infact during the previous rule bureaucracy has become non functional and it has affected goverance.

The new government has also put great imphasis on transparency in its functioning to curb corruption.Restrictions on the appointment of relatives as private secretary or as any official will further curb corrupt practices.

Modi And His Cabinate:Men Are On The Mission

On Monday 26th May 2014 ,the world will witness a historical oath taking ceremony of Narender Modi and his cabinet at six pm in the front lawn of the President House. It will mark a beginning of of the tenure of a common man as the PM of India and on the background of grandeur of President House ,India will witness rise of Sun of Indian politics in the west(normally the Sun rises in the east). As till now it has been deliberated in lengthand breath that the Modi's cabinet will be small but full of men on mission. On the decorated occasion we will witness arrival of a few new faces to provide energy and dynamism to the process of government.

Core committee of the Modi Cabinet will constitute Modi as PM,Rajnath Singh as Home Minister,Arun Jaitely as Finance and Defence Ministetand finally Sushma Swaraj  the Foreign Minister. This team is not only dynamic but also very experienced as a result wonderful things are expected.

After that other Ministers include Nitin Gadkari, Shada Shiv Gawda ,Ram Vilas Paswan,Gopi Nath Munde, Kalraj Mishra,Uma Bharati,Dr.Harsh Vardhan, Maneks Gandhi,Dharmendra Pradhan,Anant Kumar,Smriti Irani,Najma Heptullah,Nirmala Sitaraman ,Ravi Shankar Prasad,Prakash Javarekar,Radha Mohan Singh,Harsimrat Kaur,Rao Indrjeet Singh,Kishan Pal Gujjar,Vishnu Dev,Narender Singh Tomar and a few others who will carry out the agenda of the Modi government.

As Modi shifts to 7,RCR today at around ten pm it will be a shift of M to M ie Manmohan to Modi but it is magical and majestic change. It signals the end of an era of policy paralysis to performance. Now the world today experienced a spectacular show of democracy and power of the people at President House at the time of oath taking ceremony. When the Sun was setting ,India was rising among Asian nations as a nation ready to take care of their interest and providing them confidence that the new age has arrived where growth will be the agenda. In the presence of several heads of the States and a large number of distinguished personalities Modi and his men took oath and promised to serve the nation with a motive of sacrifice and change.

What separates the new government from the old is the feeling of performance and motivation among the ministers as no body is talking about what he or she has got but what he or she is supposed to perform. That is these forty five men are on a mission to serve the nation. At the same times Modi has done all types of social and political engineering as a result the States that are going for the elections are given more representation in the cabinet.

Modi And Changing Equations of Asian Politics

The victory of BJP in 2014 general elections has opened a new chapter in foreign relations of India and neighouring countries like China,Pakistan,Bangladesh,Sri Lanka,Afghanistan and Bhutan.Modi will like to have a peaceful environment in the Asian continent because his main agenda is economic growth and prosperity of the region. As a result Modi has invited all the heads of the SAARC to attend Oath Ceremony of the new government on 26th May 2014.Before going into deeper analysis of this step let us know what development has taken place. Most of the head of State have gladly accepted the invitationas they were waiting for the new beginning in the relationship between the SAARC members but as usually Pakistan got involved in diplomatic tantrums and trying to gain attention more than other members countries. It is a common perception that Pakistan has become a politically sick nation that is the mother land of all terrorist activities and a source of destablity. Even western countries have also declared Pakistan a rogue state .

The intention behind this move to invite all the leaders of neighouring countries to  give an idea to what the new government feels about the region and what it expects from these countries in futuristic development programs. Modi in his various interviews explained that he wants friendly relations with all the neighouring countries based on mutual respect without downsizing any country but at the same time India can't allow any country to play foul with its area. This new concept went well with all the countries except Pakistan because it is not ready to accept changed situation. It has to play foul political game therefore firstly the PM of Pakistan invited Modi even before he became PM of India.Question arises why was Nawaj Sharif in great hurry to do so ?Because Pakistan wanted to put the ball in India's court and make a hue and cry over the issues if Modi doesn't accept his invitation.Normally head of States congrats each other on the victory in the elections and then wait for government to form and start functioning before going for bilateral talks. But Pakistan is in a great hurry only to further complicate the issues.Further Iit has to be remembered that Indo Pak relationship has to be viewed in the light of inluence exerted by army,ISI,Terrorists outfits and political establishment.Generally army and ISI are deadly opposed to any talk because it affects their existence and role in Pakistan. As a result Pak PM has very little choice to make in any diplomatic matter with India

As expected Pakistan started delaying its decision of accepting the invitation, only to gain attention and to do bargaining even before the talk.India's new government has come to the power with a different mindset and determination to deal with Pakistan. There is no reply from the government but BJP spokeperson has rightly said that now ball is in Pakistan court and the leadership of that country has to take a decision what it feels about future relationship with India.Since 1971 after the defeat in war,Pakistan has decided to fight a shadow battle with India and during 1980's it promoted terrorism in Punjab. After that when India was able to control terrorism in Punjab, it selected Jammu&Kashmir.Time and again there cross border incursions and firing to provoke India. Therefore it was expected that Pakistan will firstly create furor and then will take a decision.

But one thing that Pakistan must know that Modi government is not going to bear tantrums and will not allow Pakistan to play foul.It may adopt tit for tat policy and that is the worrying factor. As a result terrorist organizations are pressurzing Mr.Sharif not to go India. We know that not only the terrorists organisation but army too of Pakistan is not interested in smoothening the relationship with India. Therefore this media circus is going on.India knows that there are six more heads of States are coming who deserve equal attention and respect as a result it decided to play down the delaying tactics and drawing media coverage.

Now question arises why did Modi decide to invite SAARC memers on his swearing ceremony?Modi has a vision of becoming statesman of Asia by bringing new changes in economic and political equation. He has a clear mindset about the relationship which will be build up on mutual respect and inclusive growth of the region. Now it is for Pakistan to decide whether it suits to it or nor and where Pakistan find itself in the greater design of Modi Statemanship. There have been opposition to the invitation of Sri Lankan President also but BJP has not given importance to such demands as our foreign policy can not be state oriented and at the appropriate plateform the issues of Tamilian population will be addressed.

Similarly, with Bangaladesh ,India needs a broader vision to short out its outstanding issues like border disputes harbouring terrorists activities. Some times stern decisions are also required and strong message are to be given to these countries. Minor issues like water sharing can be solved using technical data.Similarly with Nepal we need issue based talks. In fact India's Look East Policy requires cooperation of all the countries so that interests of Asian countries can be safeguarded.Pakistan may feel isolated if it is not ready to bend its back but in the long run it will have to accept the policy of Panchtantra and peaceful co existence.

Modi vision for Asia is grand as he feels that without Asian Unification like European ,this region development prospects are not very bright.According to Modi Asia has tremendous potential and therefore cooperation among Asian coutries will open uo new vista. It will not be exgeration to say that twenty first century belongs to Asia and key to the power will shift from US to Asia.So the role of SAARC becomes very prominent and it is the reason why Modi wants SAARC to play dominant role in the economic and political matter.Modi this way wants to reduce  US interference in Asia and here he sees great role for him as a Stateman.

Boko Haram's Inhuman Acts In Nigeria

Boko Haram an organization founded by Mohammed Yusuf in 2002 to establish a pure Islamic State has done the most inhuman act by kidnapping 300 girls. This group was ealier known to be against Western Countries and particularly Christians has now played an arms twisting game by kidnapping act to free its members from jail. They call them jehadi but actually they are a group of terrorists who are harvesting on poverty, illiteracy ,underdevelopment and elite exploitation of people of Nigeria. It is a very sordid state of affairs in the politics of Africa that most of its countries are suffering from backwardness and poverty as a result these countries are very fertile land for the growth of terrorism. And the Boko Haram is one of them.It is very important to note that more than 10000 people have lost their lives in Nigeria in the  fight against Boko Harem.
Picture of the girl freed by boko haram

According to Boko Haram they are fighting against everything which is anti Islamic as well as puritan movement of Nigerian government. Now Nigeria as a country is mostly ruled by military generals and population is mostly under privileged therefore development works are very slow and unsatisfactory therefore, there is great resentment against the government. This raises a big question where is Nigeria heading for?As both the government and military have failed to protect the ferocious and frequent attacks of Boko Haram, more than nine lacs people are displaced. In a poverty driven state ,terrorists organization can easily flourish and can find its fighters also.Mostly dominant in the Nothern Nigeria Boko Haram uses motorcycle borne terrorists to attack government officials  and as a result the government hsd to ban use of the motorcycles in the certain parts.
(Areas dominated by Boko Haram)↑

Boko Haram gets its finances by bank robbery and international donations. This organization also receives both strategical and arms support from Al Qaeda and other terrorists organizations,as a result it is operating in a few neighboring countries like Cameroon and Niger. This organization can be brutal to the extreme that it uses even child soldiers and child bomb. But in recent years it was facing difficulties in recruiting its soldiers. As a result it has taken this step to force brothers of these girls to join Boko Haram.

Now after the act of kidnapping not only neighboring countries but the international community has also been critical of this act and decided to teach Boko Haram a lesson. These countries met in France and decided to launch an all corner attract on Boko Haram.Meanwhile there is no trace of remaining girls as a few of them freed themselves. The parents of remaining girls are agitating and asking the government to do something on the urgent basis Let us hope that good sense prrvails on the terrorists and they free the girls.

Denied Bail Kejriwal Goes to Jail

Arvind Kejriwal has made yet another political blunder on Wednesday 21st May 2014,when he declined to furnish a Rs.ten thousands personal bond, a simple legal requirement in defamation case filed by ex.BJP President Mr. Gadkari. It may be seen as reaping what Mr.Kejriwal had sown some months ago while labeling corruption charges against fifteen most corrupted people including Gadkari. Thanks Mr Kejriwal that you have made us aware that there are other institutions or the organizations than investigating agencies of Government of India, who are doing this wonderful job for the nation. But dear Kejriwal you and your party must know some legal provisions required for doing this.Every person is free to raise questions about the corruption charges about politicians or the government officials but not without any valid proof. Therefore, it was quite natural that any one who feels that his or her reputation was damaged will certainly move the court to get remedy. Therefore ,what Mr.Gadkari has done is fully justified and he has all the legal provisions to protect his reputation. Now what Mr.Kejriwal has done cannot be compared with the act of Mahatma Ganghi in Motihari court in 1915 to protect rights of the farmers. When Gandhi refused to take bail by paying Rs.1 the judge was gracious enough to pay from his pocket but Mr.Kejriwal you are not Gandhi and you are not so lucky. The workers of AAP needs to read history and if not  history will teach  a lesson.

Now questions arise about intension of Mr.Kejriwal and his party.Firstly, who has given authority to a group of people to raise such corruption charges without any valid proof? This was initially done with the intention of attracting people towards the party and no doubt it paid dividends to AAP.People thought that here is a crusader who is different from other politicians and ready to fight against corruption. In all the public meetings Mr.Kejriwal will take out a paper from his pocket ,like V.P.Singh did in 1989 saying that he will announce the name of people who have received kickbacks in the Bofors case, and will announce a few names and will label serious corruption charges. He used to receive thunderous applause for his courageous efforts but sensationalism may have short term gains ,however, in the long run it is bound to be dangerous. And Mr.Kejriwal is reaping what he had sown.

Now ,after drubbing in the general elections he was anxious to get media attention.According to some reliable sources Kejriwal is a media hungry person who doesn't like to be out of the limelight.Therfore, a simple legality was planned into a big occasion to mobilize his supporters and gain media coverage. To some extent it seemed that he was successful but it has done greater damage to the party.People of India are no more interested in such tantrums and political drama, therfore they remained aloof to AAP call for supporting the party move. The drama of dharna and protests at Tihar jail where Kejriwal was kept for three days ie upto 23rd May was a big flop and failed to draw attention of the people.

When Kejriwal was at the hight of his political rise every thing he did paid him big dividend but once he resigned from Chief Ministership of Delhi his bad time started. In this case too he could have easily averted his misfortune when the judge has asked for a personal bond of Rs.  ten thousands.Since he is charged under section 500 of IPC which  is bailable offences on furnishing personal bond but he declined. When the judge asked why do you want a separate treatment despite being a commonman,he said that he is crusading against corruption and will prefer the jail instead of bail.It reflects the mindset of Kejriwal and his guides who are hellbent upon challenging every thing  of the present system.

Congress Drama of Taking Responsibility of Defeat in the General Elections

The worst ever performance of the Congress Party in the General Elections of 2014 has raised a big hue and cry among its workers and even the die hard suppoters of the party are raising doubt about effectivenessof top leadership. With 44 MP in the Parliament now there is every possibility that Congress will loose the position of Leader of opposition. No doubt winning and loosing are the part of election but the way Rahul Gandhi was projected as future leader of the party and the way he was given freedom to choose his core team for this election ,now needs to answerto all those ground level workers who have put everything for the at stake for the party.

So therefore, party has called the meeting of Congress Working Committee and both SoniaGandhi and Rahul Gandhi have offered their resignation taking responsibility for loss in the elections.Since this committee is full of sycophants and Gandhi family loyalists therefore outcome of the meeting was well known to every body.Meeting lasted for more than four hours but surprisingly except for main reasons for poll debacle every thing was discussed.Question arises why so?It is because the Congress can't survive without Gandhis. The culturaldevelopment of the party has shaped in 144 years has tought its leaders that their life and politics begins with Gandhi and ends there itself.Today some of the leaders were being pulled towards the meeting hall because they ard unable to walk but to our utter surprise there is no dilution in their loyalty to Gandhi family.

The political drama continued and every leader praised Rahul Gandhi gof his unknown dynamic leadership quality and blamed the Government fof the poll debacle. As usually there was one person ready to take responsibility for what he never had doneie Mr.Manmohan Singh.Whatever he has done is due to Rahul and Sonia Gandhi but whatever they have mismanaged the responsibility goes to Mr.Singh.That is the tragedy of of modern Congress.People are fade up with the political arrogance of Congress and they felt that it is the time opportune to teach a lesson to the party. Why do I call it a political drama of tajing responbility because when the party and its die hard workers were fighting a battke of life and death its young leader Mr.Rahul Gandhi left the country for a recreational trip even without informing the party leadership. That not only demoralised party workers but also reminded them that what he feels for the party and the workers.

Now it is a high time when the century old party should come out of Gandhi shadow and take some bold decisions than to live in cozy world of ignorance. The central leadership should be bold enough to take responsibility of the defeat and go for overhauling.Defeat in the elections should be taken as a lesson for how far the politics has changed and old age policy of safegaurding senior leaders should be desisted.

The Results Of Elections Of 2014: An Inside Analysis

The 16th of May 2014 is a historical day in the history of electoral politics because a new Sun of Indian politics, Narender Modi ,is rising and the old age sun of Gandhi family is sinking. As indicated in most of elections exit polls conducted by the news channels that BJP led NDA is going to form its government after ten years with thumping majority of 335seats and the Congress Party is facing the worst performance in its history with 46 seats.Congratulations to the party which pIanned the elections so meticulously that there was  no scope for  manipulatio or maneuver other political parties, be that national or regional, to do any thing. The election results are great set back to all the politincal analysts and strategists of different political parties who were convincing their parties bosses that BJP will not be in a position to form the government at  the center.

It seems that all political parties have only one thing to do that is to criticized, cotradict and control Modi. But while doing so they failed to project themselves as a potential alternative  for BJP.Not only this, but people of India have also decided to vote for a party that will form a strong  and stable government in the center and they have also rejected castist parties.Poll debacle of SP&and BSP in UP and JDU and RJD in Bihar are the examples of what the youth voters of India feels for these political parties. The two parties that are able to escape this onslaught are AIDMK in Tamilnadu and Mamata Banerjee in West Bengal. The main reasons are some local factors like booth management by workers of these parties and poor presence of BJP cadre in these states. But more important is the fact that for the first time ,BJP was able to establish itself in these states and going to win some seats.

If we look at the performance of the Congress Party in this elections, it can easily be concluded that its leaders have not only lost faith in the party central leadership but as the Congress leaders they have nothing to boast but every thing to defend.Poor planning and wrong distribution of tickets to candidates led to great debacle of the party. Most of its leaders were busy in coining terms like Hitler,Bucher Communal and what not for Modi.Perhaps the youth of the modern India have rejected this attitude of Congress Party. After that neglect of PM Manmohan Singh during the electioneering has given a very bad signal to the people of India as they felt that one of the most learned leader of modern days politicians was merely used to fulfill greed of a family. It also proved that theory of dual power center is correct .

As regards to the political parties of UP ,the days of caste politics is nearly over and people of UP are fade up with corruption and lawlessness. The people realized that the worst damage to the backward people was done by SP and BSP. These parties have used Muslims ,backwards and low caste people for their political gains . More over people have also realized that the boggy of communalism and being the protector and champion of backwards have been blasted by Modi.As a result these people have also voted for the BJP and  current trends show that BJP may win more than sixty seats in UP.

As reported earlier that decision of JDU in Bihar to part its way from NDA has proved the worst political act of a political party in recent years. Now this party may be limited to a few seats(3or4) and it  indicates that JDU has lost its social engineering.Massive victory of BJP in Bihar clearly indicates that in the coming assembly elections JDU will be a finished story .

The second worse performer will be AAP as mostly people has rejected this party. The way AAP has mismanaged its mandate in Delhi and it is going to loose all its gains .Surprisingly AAP is doing well in Punjab.Perhaps either AAP has over estimated its capability in Delhi or taken Delhi voters for granted.Over emphasis on Banaras seat and decision of Kejriwal to fight election from UP has weaken its prospects in the elections. Now question is what will AAP do?Many of its candidates faced severe shortage of fund and manpower as a result they failed to reach the mass.Perhaps it was ego of Kejriwal and his over ambition that led to this debacle of AAP in the general elections.

Now what BJP and his PM candidate has planned the whole election process in such a meticulous way that it gave thumping victory .The BJP has" ARM" factor ie Amit Shah Rajnath Singh and Modi which worked in perfect tune.Amit Shah arrival on UP political scenario was a signal that how important Modi gives to this state. Not only it has the highest number of parliamentary sests but it is the state which paves the way to becoming the  PM  India .Rajnath Singh being the old gaurd of this state ,knew that what is required when and where. As a result each seat in every constituency was examined at booth level from caste and religious angle and then responsibility was assigned to a group of workers under able guidance of a veteran leader for not only to educate voters about vision of Modi but also encouraged them to vote for the party. As a result we can see remarkable increase in the vote percentage of BJP.

Further more BJP and its charismatic leader Narender Modi were able to break many old myths, like Muslims antagonist to BJP,BJP as urban party and no support base in the backwards. In this elections BJP was able to achieve around 10% vote of the Muslims population. This clearly shows increasing acceptability of BJP and especially Mr.Modi among new generation of Muslims. The BJP made inroads in Dalit votes is an example of its increasing popularity. Therefore social engineering of Mayawati was broken and MYS(Muslim,Yadav and Savarna) theory of Mulayam Singh Yadav was shattered.BJP went for total killing of deterimentalist politics and became hope for every caste ,religion and group.

Another casualty of the election is AAP.All its gains of Delhi elections are lost as this party was wiped of Delhi. The only consalatio is four seats in Punjab. The gains of AAP is attributed to anti incumbancy and misrule of Akali Dal led government. The charged of corruption against Akali ministers and arrogance of party leaders have actually disillutioned the people and finding AAP as a good non Punjabi alternative ,they voted in the favour of AAP.

The End Of The Congress Era

The elections of 2014 represent a rise of a political power in Indian politics and end of a political era of the Congress. As it happened six months earlier in the Assembly elections, the century old Congress Party is down to the dust in the General Elections of 2014 also. The party which ruled the nation for more than 50 years, is now facing the worst times in its history. As indicated in the most of the exit polls ,the Congress Party is loosing badly and even may be limited to less than 50 seats and the BJP is gaining handsomely. What may be the plausible explanation for it is a big question before the party as well as before the political pundits(analysts).
In 2004,when BJP was riding high on India Shining wave  , then it was magic of Mrs Sonia Gandhi to unite Congress Party and forge an alliance with non BJP parties and ruled the nation for ten years under the leadership of Manmohan Singh. But these ten years are not so smooth and wonderful to give the party a launching platform in this general elections. At the same time there are many tactical mistakes by the central leadership which could cost very dearly to the party.Engulfed with many corruption charges, party went in the elections of 2014 with low moral and poor planning. The Congress Party went to the elections of 2014without any Prime Ministrial candidate as Manmohan Singh gas already anounced his decision to retire from the politics. It clearly created a lot of confusion among its workers. After that many of Congress senior leaders decision of not to fight the elections has further damaged prospects of the party.

Firstly, the projection of Rahul Gandhi as the next leader of the Congress Party does not appeal many people. He neither has political charisma nor pragmatism to influence the people. Moreover he is sorrounded by those people and advisors who themselves have no political background or understanding of Indian politics. He also failed to convince people that he is capable of taking the country out of the mess and he also failed to energize party workers that party can win the elections on the progressive agenda. What the Congress lost was the opportunity to groom Rahul Gandhi as a leader of mass acceptance by putting him in the cabinet at the second position as the finance minister or foreign minister and allowing him to learn the method of governance. But there was great arrogance among family and well wishers of Gandhi that like his father Rahul should become PM directly without holding any position in the government. From his inexperience, emerged his bad days when  surrounded by sycophants he failed to take right decisions at the right times.

Secondly projection of Manmohan Singh as PM left no scope for any other leaders to outshine him in governance. As a result on several occasions ,Congress Party gave indications of difference between the party and government and the theory of dual power centre. Many immature overtures of party leaders have also done irreparable damage to the government. There was common notion in the political circle that government is being run by the people not belonging to the cabinet as a result the credibility of the government was always doubted. All these factors led to down fall of the party from the leading  position  to being ruined.

Attitude of party leaders  rushing to Sonia Darbar for every direction was another reason for the downfall of the party. This gave rise to the theory of two power centers. In fact the government was reduced to a kitchen government being run by a power and position hungry people without any political backing and mas support. For every success Mrs.Sonia Gandhi or Rahul Gandhi is responsible and for every failure Manmohan Singh is responsible has done enough damage to the party. The people of India were bemused for ten years how a learned person like Manmohan Singh is being humiliated for projecting,a novice person like Rahul Gandhi as PM.

Finally, when Congress Party went to the poll, it has nothing to boast of but only to defend itself for all the corruption charges and its misdeeds. In fact Congress Party centered its poll strategy towards criticism of Modi which bounced back badly. It looked that Congress Party was advertising for BJP.Now chances of Congress revival are bleak and unless and until Mr.Modi and his government(if it is formed) makes huge blunders, then Rahul Gandhi as PM will be a day dreams. Why I am concluding so because Modi as I know is not going for short term gains and governance. He has a bigger dream and plan to establish BJP and to finish Congress. In States like MP,Rajasthan,Chattisgarh,Gujarat and West Bengal ,Cnogress Party was fighting elections without any leader or planning as a result outcomes are well known to the party. Therefore it seems that 2014 elections may be a farewell to the Congress Party.

Finally some political sycophants may persue a new theory of bringing Priyanka Gandhi into the active politics. Will it work is a big question?Today political situation are different from that of 20th century when voters were assosiciated with family or personality. But still no harm in trying her as she may give a new direction to the party and save the country from being unipolar political system.

Challenges Before the New Government

Today India stands at the cross road of poverty among plenty, lack of political credibility, rampant corruption and economic stagnation. For last ten years political corruption is rampat which naturally affected Indian economy badly. The cases of  the scams of Commonwealth games,2G ,Coalgate and many other corruption cases have damppened economic mood of the nation and also shaken faith of  institutional investors in India. Not only this  worsening law and order situation and sluggish judicial functioning have also taken spirit out of the nation.Since elections are mostly over in the country and the main focus will now be shifted towards the formation of a new government, therefore ,a few questions are standing like Yaksh Prashn(questions needed to be answered at any cost). The new government will have to be prepared to face these questions and challenges and therefore I thought it appropriate to highlight them as  people of India need a clear vision of the new government and concrete answers to these questions.

ECONOMIC POLICIES OF NEW GOVERNMENT:The new government will face big challenges in the field of industry, agriculture and infrastructureand empolyment generation. All these sectors suffered badly due to policy paralysis and political indecision. In fact the economic reforms of India of 1991 have mostly lost their impacts due to wrong sequencing and lack of political will to take tough decisions. Therefore, the new government will have to release the economy from political control and develop a new mechanism to guide it for social welfare. This will require both short and long term refoms and measures. The industrial sector needs great policy boost as all the industrial parameters are showing down slide .At the same time policy contradictions need to be removed.Especially the manufacturering sector is waiting for overhauling. The biggest problem is poor investment in the Research and Development sector as a result India is working mostly with the second generation technology  in the industrial sector. Therefore ,we have to make it mandatory for the industrial units to invest more money in Research and Development .For this tax concessions can be given to the industrial sector.
There should be single window clearance for investment proposals with least possible official interference so that foreign investment in India is promoted and the growth rate is boosted. At the same time corporate sector social responsibility needs to be fixed so that there is integrated growth process. No doubt there is rampant corruption in the private sector which needs to be addressed separately. In other words the new government will have to make corporate sector more transparent and more responsible in the growth process.

AGRICULTURE AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT:This sector is the worst affected sector in last ten years. Since peasants don't have big say in policy making as well as in election matters therefore, they are easily manupulated by MANREGA like programs and loan waiver. All eye washing and a wastage of state resources. There is an urgent need of policy change over in the agricultural sector so that income generating assets can be created and modernization of this sector takes place. For the new government a complete divorce from old policy regime is required so that both challenges and chances of agriculture sector are focused in the next ten years. We  all know that there is a great need for enhancing agriculture productivity to feed more than a billion population and it is not possible without agriculture sector reforms. The new government will have to make an adjustment between urbanization and agricultural development because urbanisation is taking place at the cost of agricultural land. Proper delivery mechanism has to be developed for the agriculture sector so that it is able to cope up with international developments and national challenges.Pending issues like institutional reforms , computerization of land records and discrematory subsidy policy are essential dimensions of new agriculture policy.

At the same times, creation of irrigation facilities and regular supply of agricultural inputs at reasonable prices are also required. In the twenty first century what we need more than anything is to create warehousing facilities and regulated agricultural market so that benefits of agricultural development goes to the actual farmers and not to the middle men.
As regards to the Rural Development our old policy of employment generation also needs complete revamping as in most of the programs there is political interference which leads to corruption.MANREGA like program should be restructured and as independent agency should be appointed for distribution of resourced.
INFRASTRUCTURE sector is waiting for the long for its turn for reforms and modernization. In India we have too many control systems in the infrastructure sector like it is divided into Railways,Roadways and  Waterways. The question is do we need this division and if yes  then for what? For the three ministries and three centres of corruption and manipulation. An integrated infrastructure ministry with an autonomous board with all the power to take decisiond is what India needs today to deal with the problems and prospects of this sector. All the three sectors railways, roadways abd Waterways need huge amount for the modernization. Therefore it is not possible without foreign investment and technology.

EXTERNAL SECTOR AND FOREIGN TRADE :In the last ten years foreign trade abd performance of external sector is in doldrums.Lack of vision and political will have also damaged India chances of increasing its presence in the world trade. What are needed to boost this sector are introduction of new policy measures to increase exports and liberal foreign investment policy. In the last decades or so trade deficit is rising and causing great concerns for the economy. The government will have to find out and formulate a new EXIM Policy to control a whophing trade deficit of$ 88 billion .It can be done by three policy measures- consolidating Indian rupee against US dollor and other major foreign currencies, exports promotion and imports restrictions especially from China.

FISCAL AND MONETARY REFORMS:India is perhaps following old age taxation policy which emphasises more tax burden on the middle class which determines market sentiments and expansion of the economy. But this class is now awakened and will demabd its due share in economic growth and cannot be nade fool for any longer. Therefore NarsimhamCommittee recomendations should be implemented in the true spirit and a new commission should be appointed to examine tax issues. No doubt tax resources are essential for the performance of the government, but it cannot be done at the cost of the middle class. For this the maximum income tax rate should not be more than 20%and minimum tax rebate income should be raised to five lacs.
As regards to rising fiscal deficit the govt. has to do a lot of homework. It has to stop many popular programs.Subsidy policy should be discretionary and no free subsidy should be given to the rich class as in the case of LPG and fertilizer.
I donot agree with RBI tactics of controlling inflation by curbing demand side factors as in the long run they will bring stagflation. Therefore monetary policy should be more liberal and growth oriented than to squeezing money supply. In India we need cheaper capital so that industrial sector gets a boost. If supply imprives there is no question of inflation and even if there is any inflation it can be dealt with other fiscal measures.

Banaras A New Political BattleGround

The city of Banaras has a unique religious and spiritual history and this city has distinction of finding reference in many ancient holy books.People have faith that visiting Kasi or Banaras gives freedom from birth and death cycle. Now this city has occupied another distinction of intense political battle between Narendra Modi, Arvind Kejriwal and Ajay Rai.Of course Modi is Prime Ministerial candidate and Mr. Kejriwal is new political alternative  and the Congress candidate Mr.Ajay Rai is known in Purwanchal for his criminal record . In this political battle local issues have taken a back sit and non issues have taken the forefront.

Banaras had never seen before such intense poIitical battle because now this city will have a distinction of being represented by a PM candidate. Selection of Banaras as the seat for Modi had upset many political equations of UP.It is often said quotation that road to Delhi goes through UP.Arival of Modi on national political scene had already created many ripples in other political parties but his presence in Banaras has given big jolts to SP the ruling party and BSP the outgoing party both banking on backwards and dalit votes belonging to lower caste.BJP riding on Modi Wave has not only broken decades long political equations of these parties but was also able to swing these votes in its favor. It is the reason why both SP and BSP are in a state of shock .

Youth of modern India has decided to go along with Modi not for any other reason than to see better future and good governance, therefore majority of youth will support Modi.Since a large number of new votres are youth and their decision will matter in this election, therefore, anti BJP parties have tried to polarized the election on religious lines as well as on several other issues like Modi'wife land policy of Modi government and many more. But results are obvious to these parties. The Congress Party is fighting a lost battle as it neither has a leader nor any vision to take India in 21stcentury.Rahul Gandhi may look innocent but he is not considered to be mature enough to lead the nation.Unfortunately others leaders of Congress Party are lacking mass appeal and all India presence. For Mrs. Sonia Gandhi the time has passed and her foreign origin will not be acceptable by Indian people.

Mr.Kejriwal although has created a political hype but his credibility as a serious political leader is always doubted by political thinkers. He is media hungry person and there is no logic behind leaving Delhi and fighting election in Banaras.By doing so he has lost his political ground in Delhi and failed to make any impression on the national political scene.Infact Mr.Kejriwal has made many compromises and even played divisionist politics. If BJP is cricised for communal politics then no other party can be absolved from this charge. In India for winning elections Political parties are ready to use money ,muscle power and religion and any other things if these things are suitable for them and happening behind the curtain.

In fact election process needs revamping and election commission requires more power and vision to handle issues like  use of money during the  electioneering. Now it seems that every party and candidate is free to use whatever amount it feels required for getting votes.Rather how is it possible that most of the cabdidates are using helicopters and planes for month long compaigning.A bigger question who are the people behind this election financing.
Political rallies and road shows carried out by parties in Banaras for the last three days seemed to be a political incursion on its spiritual character and perhaps tried to destroy social and religious fibre. It not only disturbed common life of the people but also put great pressure on the administration.Political parties must remember that crowd does not mean votes  casted or support given. We all know that how crowd is managed and brought in rallies. Now every thing is over and Ganga is flowing in its normal course as if nothing had happened.Har har Mahadev is the final truth to be accepted and Mahadevam sharan gachami(let us go to Lord Shiva).Whosoever wins Banaras will wait for its development abd Ganga will wait for its purification.
