2014 Elections A Drift From Growth Agenda To Hatred Speeches

Political economy of India has perhaps lost its glaze and glamor in the elections of 2014 as most of the political parties are fighting this election not on the issues concerning the people and nation but  on those issues that what suit them the most. Unfortunately in the twenty first century both the people and political parties are taking a very arthodox stand of communalising and polarising the election process. The world is watching very carefully and anxiously the elections of 2014 and it will be disappointing, if leaders do not take lessons from the past. Now what forces are operating in India that political parties cannot have courage to face people on new agendas. As a result people like Togadia are allowed to spite hatred and create fear psychosis among the minority community.Question arises why is Togadia opening his mouth now? And why is tape war started by a political party now? It seems that such stategies are well pondered and such polarising of electorate is played when a few parties are on weak ground. The Congress never talked of such nonsense things in 2009 elections when it went for vote on the issues of good goverance and growth. But now it stands on a very weak wicket therefore, one after another tapes are presented by the Congress Party to divert attention of the people.

It is unfortunate to note that religion still plays an  important role during the election. The process of polarising the elections had started when the Congress Party chief Mrs . Sonia Gandhi decided to meet a Muslim religious leader and asked his support in the election under pretext of not dividing secular votes. It is beyond the imagination of the common men  how is Muslim vote secular and others vote non secular. Unfortunately it clearly indicated desperate bid to get a good chunk of Muslims vote or rather transferring Muslim votes from BSP and Samajwadi Party. This unthoughtful political blunder has changed the pace and process of 2014 elections. In fact it has started a serious competition among the political parties to do something dramatic so that they are able to win the heart of a religious group or the other group.

In my opinion it was a tactical move of the Congress Party to derail the BJP from its growth model  because at that front Congress was finding it difficult to cope up.It has given a different color to the whole election process because in every political parties there are many leaders who only fit in this type of election agenda. As a result Azam Khan crossed the line as soon as Amit Shah has spoken about taking revenge for whatever had happened in Muzaffarnagar. He went on to divide our army on the religious basis. As this was not enough when Mulayam Singh Yadav spoke about rape and in pursuit of getting support of a section of people he said there is no need for death penalty for the rape as boys make such mistakes.

After this it was a free for all .Nobody had taken care of what is he speaking and what will be its consequences. Now youth of modern India is least interested in all these nonsense utterings and baseless allegations. They have a different vision and different priorities and therefore, they are not going to be swayed away by these political tantrums. It is the reason why new political parties like AAP has impressed Indian youths more than any other partis. The issues today are corruption, unemployment and progress, hence political parties will have to change their strategy  and agenda of wooing the voters.

The present elections, therefore ,are going to be trend setter and many old myths and methodologies will be shattered. This was well visualised by BJP in the initial stage of its ekectioneering and therefore it was selling the Gujrst model of development abd the Congress found it difficult to counter.Modi wave is so powerful and dominant that the Congress and other parties are forced to develop some political negativities to counter Modi and his Model. As a result, they are trying to  drift the attention of the people from growth to religious polarisation. As a result, leaders Praveen Todgadia and many others are involved in hate speeches and they are hell bent upon creating rifts among Hindu and Muslims. I hope people are wise enough to teach them a lesson.

The Inside Story of Making of PM Manmohan Singh

The  CongressParty which was responsible for  India's freedom struggle and leading the nation after independence, is struggling for its own survival today because has lost its credentials in the eyes of the people. Today  the Congress Party symbolises  corruption, controversy and incumbency. And hardly a day passes without any new controversy about it. For a long time it were 2G, Commonwealth , and Coalgate controversies making life of Congress leaders difficult to find suitable explanations but last nails in its coffin is Sanjay Baru's book "The Accidental Prime Minister Making and Unmaking of Manmohan Singh".It has all the materials for opposition during the election time to blast the Congress Party . Mr. Baru was the press advisor of the PM ,therefore, his revelations cannot be taken lightly and cannot be shrugged off so easily. The theory of two Power Centers often given by the opposition parties is corroborated by this book. The book also reveals that how clean and honest image of Manmohan Singh was used and misused for personal gratification and how was Mr.Singh sidelined in the process of  decision making .

Let us look into the history of the Congress Party. It seems to the many people that the Congress Party cannot survive without Gandhi family as it happened when Rajiv Gandhi died and under Sitaram Kesari pesidentship and Narsimha Rao Prime ministership the party almost lost its traditional vote bank and support base but in my opinion Gandhi family itself cannot survive without Congress. The commonmen might have percieved that Mrs.Sonia Gandhi was brought to the centre stage  to rejuvenate the Party but according to the insider report she came to the centre stage to facilitate smooth transition of power and leadership from non Gandhi club to Gandhi family. It is hard to believe that the lady who was keeping distance from the politics decided to lead from the front. But the time was opportune for her grand entry into politics as BJP failed to repeat its performance despite good performance of Bajpai government. Very systematically all opposition to Gandhi family were removed and now road was clear for the next generation of Gandhi family to come to the forefront of the Congress Party ie Rahul Gandhi. Since there was opposition for Mrs. Sonia Gandhi to become PM due to her foreign nationality ; the Accidental Choice Manmohan Singh was made. Now question arises why was Manmohan Singh when there were many leaders ready and even more powerful than him to lead the Congress Party? Here it is important to note that Pranab Mukherjee was a very strong leader and mostly acceptable to Congress Party leaders but he was not accepted by Mrs. Gandhi because he was not manageable.

There is a big question was Mrs Gandhi wanted a rubber stamp PM who will never raise any questions and will follow whatever comes from 10th Janpath? Mr.Singh having no political background and clout was more suitable in the greater design of future plans of Mrs. Gandhi ie preparing roadmap for Rahul Gandhi. Since opposition to Gandhi family either silenced or suppressed , the Two Centers of Power  imerged and the destiny of the  country  was not being shaped at PM office and by the Cabinet but at 10th Janpath as claimed by many media persons and opposition leaders.  Now question arises who was running the government an PM and his cabinate or an unofficial leader? To facilitate her control over PMO , the Congress party had created National Advisory council (NAC) and appointed Mr.Pullok Chaterjee , an old faithful officer from Amethi in PMO.It is alleged that Mr.Chaterjee will go to Madam Sonia Gandhi to show all the files and will brief her about every cabinet decision. To create even greater control , all political matters were decided in NAC and not by political affairs committee of the government.
in
Insiders reveal that most of the orders used to come from the second power center and be that officials in PM office or in any others position were decided by 10th Janpath and even ministers used to take orders from that superior office and not from the PM. The book quotes many incidents when ministers did not report to the PM after foreign tour. The Cabinate started functioning like unknown body of leaders not responsible to PM. Loyalists to Gandhi family started getting preference Ianin decision making developed a carefree attitude towards Manmohan Singh and it is this period when maximum number of scams have taken place. Knowing what is happening in the government , Manmohan Singh was unable to do anything to check corruption or he meekly surrendered to the destiny. This was a fatal misjudgement and disservice to the nation by the PM Manmohan Singh.

During  the first part of UPA rule , there was interferences by the Cogress President and Manmohan Singh was not in a position to stand firmly but there can not be any doubt that elections of 2009 were fought in the name of Manmohan Singh and he should have asserted his position and should have taken command over policy matters but unfortunately his surrender and subjugation became more evident. On many occasions he even felt humiliated and sidelined but he knew his destiny. It often said that he functioned like a cabinate secretary than like PM.Whatever may be his compulsions and constraints but the nation has to suffer. Now the question arises why did it happen and what price the nation had paid? Future will tell us what price we have paid and how much we have to pay more for the extraordinary mechanism of two power centres. Was It a revenge for not being the PM or something else; the history will decide but the way PMO was diminished to a mere clerical machinery is shocking. In fact PM was caged and was not allowed to function freely.

Rape :An Act of Mistake or Samajwadi Political Blunder

Samajwadi Party has perhaps lost its sense and sensibility and most of its leaders lost their rationale as well as social responsibility when they talk about rape as a mistake of adult boys and such mistakes should be dealt midly. There can't be more dirty politics than this when the most heinous crime against wemon is described as the mistake of boys and the whole blame for the rape is not on the rapist but on whom who was raped. It is sadest day of Indian politics when a senior leader of  the Samajwadi Party defends the rapists and bats for them for a sheer share in vote bank eroded due to polarisation of votes. All my readers will be shocked to know is that, three of the rapists, belong to a particular community and vote of that community is essential for the political survival of the Samajwadi Party.

The State which has more than 30000 cases of crime against women and out of this 1967 cases of rape needs to improve law and order machinery than to support rapists. But for Mulayam Singh Yadav rape is not due to the poor law and order situation but due to women .When will these politicians realize that crime and criminal are already defined in our criminal laws and Mr.Yadav has not been given authority to redefine the law of the nation. If ignorance is a bliss the silence is a golden bliss for Mr. Yadav like senseless politicians. One needs not to jump into the ocean if he or she can't cross a flood river.

Mulayam Singh Yadav also needs  to be reprimanded for his senseless speech and defiance of fifty percent population. He needs to be educated about crime against women and sufferings of women afterwards. As a man he may not be able to understand this or he may be pretending so but dear Mr.Yadav  rape is the most brutal act of a Man who is in this world because women .We must not forget that Mulayam Singh Yadav and his party have always shown little respect for any movement or Act in the Parliament to support women. His party never allowed even discussion on the proposal of  33% reservations for women in  the Parliament and always tried to play political game to thwart any such moves of other parties.

Justifying rape rather than pleading for severest punishment clearly indicates mind set of Samajwadi Party and its leaders. Now question arises is it a Samajwadi rape or Samajwad of rape? Mr Yadav fifty percent of voters known as women don't belong to any particular religion but they understand your game plan and vote bank politics. It is India of 21st century with large number of youth voters who understand your politics better than you and therefore don't live in the fool's paradise. If tide turns against you then you are politically finished. The Samajwadi Party leaders are also involved in many crimes and their ideological bankruptcy is reflected in their statements. As Abu Azami said that if a girlis rsped then she should also be hanged. Now Mr. Yadav people failed to understand what type of Samajwad you and your party likes to implement in India.

The Dirty Picture Of 2014 Elections: Slapping, Sledging and Sedition

The great Indian political drama is unfolding its unethical face during the 2014 elections. No doubt in all the previous elections we have seen many unfortunate things but this time political morality is kept aside and it has become free for all.The type of sledging and act of sedition of deviding the army on religious lines are shameful acts.Yesterday incident with Arvind Kejriwal is perhaps the most unfortunate and ugly face of Indian Democracy. There may be divergent views on this issue but what political culture we are creating ? In the democracy there is no place for such reactions. To our utter surprise this has happened five times with Kejriwal in less than a month. Why are such reactions shown against him only? No doubt that  politics of Kejriwal is unorthodox and may not be suitable for traditional political parties but the constitution of the country has granted  us to follow our political thinking and ideology. Therefore, I see nothing wrong with AAP and its politics.

Now the second and most unfortunate incident of 2014 election happened on 9th of April when a UP minister went on to say that Kargil war victory was because of soldiers belonging to a particular religion. I quote him "In Kargil war no Hindu soldiers were responsible for the victory as Daras mountain was captured by Muslim soldiers. "As soon as this statement was given to attract Muslim voters towards Samajwadi Party which has lost its traditional vote bank of Muslims due to Muzaffarnagar riots, sharp reactions from all the corners of society started flowing. Nothing can be more worse than this statement when a political party went on to divide secular Indian army on religious lines for petty political gains. It amounts to encouraging sedition in Indian army and needs to be dealt with severest punishment so that senseless politicians are deterred from such nonsense acts.Indian army has the highest tradition of valour , sacrifice and secularism and it never interfered in civil matters.

Mr.Azam Khan has a history of speaking senseless things and in the past people used to ignore his statements but this time he has crossed all limits and tried to cause division in the army on religious lines for political gains. Now why can't we as Indian think of politics based on issues and programs? Even a bigger question who are responsible for this situation of Indian democracy? I can blame both people and political parties for this situation. The indifferent attitude of people towards politics and political process provided an opportunity to the parties to take voters for granted and allowed them to manipulate election process of the country. When the Congress Party felt that without polarising election on religious line it is difficult to stand , then it played Muslim card which upset voting equation of Samajwadi Party and BSP.Purturbed by this shock and jerk of cracks in the traditional vote bank, leaders of these parties went berserk and for their survival they started spiting  venom  and sledging against politicians of other parties. The words like killer, bloody hand, gunda and throwing a leader into the sea became frequent  and common in the speeches of leaders. The present statement seems to be outcome of this frustration.

As a natural reaction the BJP went to the Election Commission to lodge a complain against Mr.Azam Khan but bigger question what was election commission doing? When will the time come to take action against such leaders dangerous for the democracy? Second question; what action the Samajwadi Party has taken against its leader?  To utter surprise of the common man the Samajwadi Party has supported the stand taken by Azam Khan and even said that such statement are the outcome of neglect of a particular community. What a surprising realization that too after sixty seven years of independence. Where was this sympathy when Muzaffarnagar riots were talking place and administrative machinery was ordered to remain indifferent as shown in the sting operation carried out by media. Now the Election Commission has issued a notice to Azam Khan for voilation of code of conduct. But such statements should not be taken as mere voilation of code of conduct butas causing sedition in the Indian army.

According to secret reports a nabhouring country wants that if Indian army is divided on such lines then it is easier to win against India. Therefore Mr.Azam Khan  needs to explain whose agenda he is carrying out.

Cobrapost Sting :An Investigating Journalism or Political Journalism

Recent sting operation by Cobra Post is an opportunistic sting not because of its contents but because of its timing. All that started as investigsting journalism has actully turning out to be an election influencing tool .It is just like playing foolishly in the hands of a political party which is trying to win the election at any cost.It is very surprising that for the sake of election, both political parties and a certain sections of media, are involved in the dirty game of raising political temperature of the nation in the name of communalism.Further it is very important to note here is that why a group of people are adamant of playing communal card in the election. What Mr.Anirudh Bahal revealed is nothing new as CBI had already examined these people on several occasions and found nothing concrete but for Cobrapost it a very important for the people of the nation to know who are these people and what was their covert planning for demolition of Babri Masjid. The claim of Cobrapost that the demolition of Babri Masjid was a pre planned act of VHP,Bajrang Dal Shiv Sena and BJP finds no concrete proof as this sting operation needs to examined. There is no denial to the fact that these parties wanted to construct Ram Mandir at the site of Babri Masjid but had they planned and rehershed the act of demolition finds no verfied document or fact and the people exposed in the sting seemed to be either exaggerated their role or are involved in self praising.Often it happens that the agency or persons doing the sting put certain words or instigate to boast about a particular fact. This human weakness of proving himself an important player often gives exaggerated version of such acts of politically sensative isuue.

No doubt ,for India nothing can be more embrassing than the demolition of Babri Masjid as it hurted feelings of lacs of Muslims allover the world but it doesnot mean that this controversial matter can't be solved by rational and moderate leaders from both the sides. All that happened can be also mentioned as failure of our political and judiciary systems because both of these sat on the issue more than required. Why are we not take certain issues in the post independent India more seriously and urgently when they matter the most.

Since my interest and intention is not to rewrite the history or provide similar commentary on demolition of Babri Masjid therefore I will focus on Cobra Post Story.According to its head if this sting was revealed now it would have lost its meaning.Yes my dear Anirudh you are totally right. It is the timing that matters a lot for such sensational story. After the meeting of Ahmed Bukhari with Mrs.Sonia Gandhi and his appeal to the Muslims to vote for the Congress Party; this type of sensational story was impending or bound to happen. It is desperate step of the Congress Party to communalise the election because in all the opinion polls Congress is going to loose this election. It had shattered its hope of putting Rahul Gandhi at PM seat.

Political parties must know that if such sting operation are allowed to influence the mood of the people ,then not only it will be a regressive step but destructive also.Cobra Post  is answerable to the country for whatever it does and no section of media can be allowed to politicize election process by playing in the hands of a particular party. Now we must realize why AAP is critical of a group of electronic media and even put this fact in its manifesto. At the same time it is also important that certain parties like that election cannot be fought on issues concerning people therefore communalisation of election is the easiest step. What is more sordid that some media people are helping such moves. Therefore Cobra Post sting is stinking with malicious intention of doing what political parties are unable to do till now.Even CBI has also dismissed contents of Cobrapost and said thst the sting contains nothing new and it carries no values for further investigation. Therefore, such moves are intended to only to polarise election on communal lines .

Muslims in India : ATool Of Vote Bank Politics or Politics Changer

India, no doubt is a secular country and its constitution does not allow any political party to use religion in election. However in all the elections in the independent India are unfortunately contested on religious lines. Before opening the debate with greater interest let us come to a very unique fact that every political party has its own definition of secularism. For BJP secularism means no appeasement of minorities but same is not the case for majority ie if majority wants certain concessions then it is alright. For Congress Party which ruled the country for more than sixty years secularism is a delightful combination of minority appeasement and polarization of backwards voters.

Use of Muslim population as a vote bank is nothing new because even for big leaders of Congress in 1952 election safe Muslim seats were selected. It may be looking very awkward but it is true that leaders like Zakir Hussain and Rafi Ahmed Kidwai were given safe seats in UP. This was just a beginning  or a trailer of what is going to happen in the future. After that in every election Congress Party used minority population as a vote bank.In the initial years Muslim population behaved like monolithic  block as voted in mass for the Congress Party under fear psychosis of right wing parties. Particularly under leadership of Late Mrs. Gandhi, Muslim preferred  congress party for its inclusive politics, however they often felt cheated because after election very little care was taken for bringing them into mainstream of economic and social development.Congress Muslim relationship continued till 1975 but excesses commited by Sanjay Gandhi at Turkman gate with Abdula Bukhari created bitterness in the relationship. As a result ,in1977 election Abdula Bukhari compaigned for Janata Party with A.B.Bajpai.This break Iin the relationship with Muslims proved very costly for Congress.

After six decades of such treatment today Muslim population is at cross road. They feel that every political party has used  them during the election and after that they were left to their own destiny.Political parties like BSP and Samajwadi Party have followed the same policy of creating fear psychosis against BJP or Hindu right wings and projected them to be protector of Muslims and asked them to vote for them at various occasions. When Muslim vote bank shifted from the Congress to  either BSP or SP in UP during nineties ;it was the beginning of decline of Congress both at state and center levels. Not only the Congress Party lost its seats in elections but it gave rise to a vacuum that can be filled by any one who promises to take care of Muslims.

But there was no change in the social and economic conditions of the Muslims in India. The so called secular parties have done more damage to Muslims than favour than to them.Bewildered by both these secular parties and their own leadership now Muslims are not ready to open their cards in 2014 election and they are waiting and watching.A section of the Muslim population is thinking of voting in favour of BJP to feel secure and not to be left behind in progressive jackpot ie to be a part of vision of Modi and his growth strategy. Will it happen is a big question? Now a days BJP too realises that support of Muslims is needed in its mission of 272 plus. Therefore, its tone has become mild and it is ready with variety of soaps to attract Muslims.

The problem of Congress of today is more complexed and therefore its president Mrs.Sonia Gandhi decided to polarise Muslim votes. As the typical Congress strategy Sonia Gandhi met Ahmed Bukhari ,the Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid in New Delhi on 2nd of April2014 to get his support in the comming election. Both announced that secular votes should not be divided. What can be more communal than this that a national party is trying to polarise votes on religious lines. It is another way of making April fool to a community which had been a tool of political management for self satisfaction and comunalist gain.Although ,onthe bigger scale the target may be BJP but its immediate suffrer will be AAP in Delhi because a mere 5%to10% swing of Muslim votes will cause serious damage to AAP.
