Rise of Rascal of Racialism in Delhi

It is very unfortunate to see incidences of racial discrimination in Delhi. To my knowledge and understanding of culture of Delhi, it is a city of cosmopolitan culture and non discriminating social values. The first incidence is related to raid of Law Minister on residents Uganda and other African nations. Whatever reasons the Law Minister may prescribe for his action but facts remain very disgusting that his this act of atrocious behaviour had created very uncomfortable situation for India in international arena.  Indian

Foreign Minister has had to face angry protests during his visit.
There may be intances of indecent behaviour by some foreigners but a  tendency to go for generalization is dangerous. It a fact that some people belonging to African countries are involved in organized drugs trafficking and fake currency smuggling but again all are not  doing this business in India. Similarly some students may have been caught in flesh trade but on what moral  ground we can blame all the African people. And a Minister doing so is the most unfortunate thing in our foreign affairs. The matter has been raised in UNO also, which is very damaging to our image of being a country without any racial feeling and practice.

Now a  new incidence of killing of student of North East Nido Tania, in Lajpat Nagar is the second blot on the face of Delhi. Why do we carry such feelings for people belonging to other regions. There are many slangs being used against North East peoples such as chinky, hot spice and so on . Passing comments on girls belonging to North East and increasing incidences of molestation has became common in Delhi and other parts of the country. It is said that these girls are very soft pray for anti social elements in Delhi. Action of Delhi Police is more deplorable. Instead of acting as a professional force, it merely tried to fulfill its routine duty and failed to understand the gravity of the situation. What is more surpring that FIR was lodged only after death of the student.

Read more about the Delhi Police here.

It is high time to change our outlook towards North East people and let them feel that they belong to this country and have same right on Delhi as any body else. Already we have disturbance in these States and such behaviour of people of Delhi is deplorable. No Country is formed with one set of people but with mixture of various types of peoples, races culture and languaged. Therefore this behavior of residents of Lajpat Nagar is unpardonable.
